    Terry & Jenny Biography

Jenny spent her childhood years growing up in the WA wheat belt town of Wongan Hills. The daughter of a railway man and a singing mother. Jenny moved to Perth with her family at age eleven and later learned the piano and started singing. Jenny met Terry in Perth, married and they have four children.

Terry was born and raised on a farm at Kendenup in the South West of WA and at fifteen moved to Perth to start an electrical apprenticeship. He started playing the guitar at thirteen, joined a band at fifteen in Perth and played lead guitar and sang in bands for over twenty years.

Terry & Jenny have now sold their electrical contracting business to spend more time on writing, recording and performing their music. They first performed together at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival on 2002 and have been playing at Festivals and Country Music Venues since then.

They released their first eight track Album “The Soldier With Banjo” in 2005 and were very surprised when the title track made it into the 2006 Golden Guitar Bush Ballad Awards. The Album also won best Australian  EP 2005 and won Jenny best female vocalist at the Bungendore Bush Ballad Awards 2006.

Their second Album “The Good Old Days” released in 2006 also picked up three songwriting awards and a Best Duo Award at the Gidgee Coal Bush Ballad Awards in 2007.

Their latest Album “Songs of our Land” released in August 2008 has done very well for them as well picking up Best Instrumental at the 2008 Gidgee Coal Bush Ballad Awards, Best Bush Ballad in the 2009 TIARA awards and also picked up Best Album and Single in the WA Country Music Awards 2009. Their award winning instrumental “Freight Train Boogie” was released as a single in Europe early in 2009 and entered the Country Music charts over there and stayed in the charts for 23 weeks reaching number one in several countries and peaking at number four overall.

Terry & Jenny have their own  “Moondyne Recording Studio” in which they record their own albums as well as other artists. Recent Albums produced by Terry are the new release from Queenslanders Keith Jamieson and Alisha Smith launched in Tamworth 2009 and the latest CD for multi award winning WA singer/songwriter Deb Beckett released in June 2009.

They also produced a ten track Album for Victorian Balladeer Evan Platchinda which will be released at the 2010 Tamworth Featival.

Terry & Jenny have between them won nineteen awards mainly for songwriting and have had sixteen of their songs recorded by other artists
